COSON WEEK Begins In Grand Style With An Awe- Inspiring National Day Of Prayers

The much-advertised master-blaster COSON Week 2025 took off this Sunday, May 25 in a bang with a never-before-seen National Day of Prayer which brought together Nigerians from across the country and across the world, praying together for the positive intervention of the Almighty in the affairs of the Nigerian nation. To put it simply, it was glorious!

The masterfully decorated Chapel of Christ the Light, the multi-denominational Christian center in Alausa, Ikeja was the epicenter of what turned out to be an event that would be talked about for many years.
Hundreds of beautifully dressed Nigerians showed up for the elaborate red-carpet cocktails at the front of the chapel with a master violinist serenading the people with cameras everywhere taking thousands of photographs.

It was on the red-carpet that the representative of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo- Olu, in the person of Rev Bukola Adeleke, the governor’s Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, declared COSON Week 2025 open.

Then came the razzle-dazzle show in the auditorium with multi-media productions that brought in the Presiding Chaplain, Rev. Oladele Ajayi, who masterfully hosted the performances and prayers with Anchor, Essence Okoro.

From different towns and cities in Nigeria and around the world: Abuja, Enugu, Awka, Owerri, London, Dallas, New York, Baltimore, etc. etc., jubilant Nigerians waved on the giant screens and prayed for Nigeria to rise again. The theme of the events of the 2025 COSON Week,, “Nigeria will rise again!” was repeated and repeated by every preacher and and audience.

The live music of great gospel singers like Chika 100%, Igwe Kenny, Esther Igbekele, Righteousman, Buchi, Mike Abdul, Efe Nathan, Kenny Saint Brown, etc, was enchanting and explosive. The audience at Chapel of Christ the Light sang and danced like they may never have done before. The prayers of the men of God like Bishop Tom Samson, Rev Tony Akinyemi, Pastor Maureen Okafor, Rev Dr Hunsu, Pastor David Edward, Pastor Chris Uche. etc. were uplifting. They urged Nigerians to believe in the future of their nation.

There were prayers against corruption and for good governance in Nigeria; prayers for Nigerian women and children; prayers for prosperity in Nigeria and against poverty in the land; prayers against insurgency and insecurity; prayers for Nigerian leaders to make the right decisions, etc.
The organization of the National Day of Prayer, was first class.

In his goodwill message delivered at the National Day of Prayer, the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu said: ”Here in the Chapel of Christ the Light, surrounded by the anointed voices of Nigeria’s finest gospel singers and the fervent prayers of our ministers, we are already witnessing the extraordinary power of collective prayer. This gathering is far more than an event – it is a divine calling, a sacred moment where every believer is united in heart and spirit, seeking God’s intervention for our beloved nation.

“Lagos, the vibrant heartbeat of Nigeria, stands firmly with COSON and with every Nigerian who believes in the promise of a brighter tomorrow. This gathering is a clarion call to all of us: let us kneel together, raise our voices, and hold fast to the unwavering faith that Nigeria can and will soar again”.
Chief Tony Okoroji, the Chairman of COSON, who dreamt and propelled the magnificent event, must be an incredibly happy person. The National Day of Prayer was awesome.

For COSON and Nigeria, it was indeed a day that will be talked about for many years.l
