General Hospital Mushin Organises Free Medical Outreach For Residents
In line with the Lagos State Government’s efforts to improve and enhance healthcare service delivery to all residents across the State, the General Hospital Mushin has held a Free Medical Outreach for residents of Mushin and its environs.
According to the MD/CEO, Dr Oluyemi Taiwo, the outreach is in furtherance of the Lagos State Government’s efforts to raise the standard of healthcare in the State in line with its THEMES Plus Agenda.
She also disclosed that the initiative is in conjunction with the Executive Chairman of the Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA, Honourable Rasak Olusola Ajala, whom she described as a Visionary Leader.
The Medical Director explained that the outreach was particularly aimed at promoting the health and well-being of the traders and residents around the community with a target audience of 1,000 residents and traders.
Dr. Taiwo emphasised that the outreach offers free screening tests for many ailments including obstetrics and gynaecologists, dental, general surgery, family planning, immunization, ophthalmology and physiotherapy among others. She affirmed that the goal is for people to have easy access to all the services rendered at the hospital by vulnerable people free of charge.
In her words, “We are not waiting for people to visit the hospital, we have brought all the services to them in their convenient zone at ‘No Cost’, and this free health services cuts across all age brackets, from newborn to the elderly.”
She reiterated the hospital’s commitment to providing prompt, optimal, accessible, qualitative health care to the community with top-of-the-range equipment, and knowledgeable and vibrant medical personnel.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA commended the initiative by the hospital, stating that it is in fulfilment of the government’s responsibility towards sustainable health care for residents and the welfare of the community.
