Health District III Conducts Comprehensive Monitoring Exercise Of PHC’s In Epe, Ibeju- Lekki, Eti – Osa

Health District III, under the leadership of its Permanent Secretary, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke, has concluded a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation exercise across Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) in Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, and Eti-Osa Local Government Areas.

The initiative was designed to assess service delivery standards, ensure alignment with international best practices, and gather valuable feedback from health workers and patients to enhance healthcare delivery across the district.

Speaking on the exercise, Dr. Adeleke emphasised the District’s commitment to providing accessible, transparent, and patient-centred healthcare services. She noted that the monitoring visits were a critical part of the district’s broader mission to improve the overall quality of healthcare and ensure that facilities are responsive to the needs of the population.

In her words, “The essence of this exercise is to evaluate how well our primary healthcare facilities are functioning, identify gaps in service delivery, and create actionable strategies to address them, We are dedicated to building a healthcare system that listens to its people, adapts to emerging challenges, and evolves to meet the diverse and dynamic needs of our communities.”

During the visits, key areas requiring improvement were identified, including resource allocation, infrastructure upgrades, and capacity-building for healthcare workers by the team led by Dr. Adeleke.

The Permanent Secretary explained that these findings would be used to develop targeted interventions aimed at addressing these issues and fostering sustainable progress.

“These visits go beyond inspection, they are a call to action for meaningful change,” Dr. Adeleke added, “By engaging with health workers and patients directly, we gain firsthand insights into their experiences, challenges, and expectations. This information is invaluable for driving improvements that will positively impact healthcare outcomes across our district.”

Dr. Adeleke also expressed her gratitude to the dedicated healthcare workers who continue to deliver services under challenging conditions. She assured them of the district’s support in providing the tools and resources needed to achieve excellence in service delivery.
