As part of ongoing efforts to revitalize and preserve one of Lagos State’s iconic heritage sites, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, in collaboration with the Office of Works, formally handed over the renovation contract for Glover Memorial Hall to Mr. Olalekan Laniyan of Kross Country Communication Limited on Friday, 16th May 2025.

The formal handover ceremony marks the commencement of a comprehensive refurbishment project aimed at enhancing the hall’s structural integrity, improving its functionality, and preserving its historical significance. Key upgrades include the installation of a retractable roof, replacement of auditorium seating, and various interior and exterior enhancements—all intended to restore the hall as a world-class venue for performances and cultural events.

Officials from both ministries, the project supervisor, and the facility manager were present to inspect the site, review the project scope, and align on expectations, timelines, and operational logistics. The contractor assured stakeholders of a phased execution plan that would allow for limited use of the facility throughout the renovation period.

This renovation underscores the Lagos State Government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding its cultural landmarks while modernizing them to meet contemporary standards for arts, entertainment, and public engagement.
