LASG Making Giant Strides In Digital Transformation Of The State -Commissioner Ayontayo

The Lagos State government has made giant strides in the digital transformation of the state including the automation of smart solutions across various sectors. So says the State Commissioner for Establishment and Training Mr Afolabi Ayontayo.

He reiterated the government’s firm commitment to investing in human capital development to enhance governance and service delivery.

The Honourable Commissioner made this assertion at a training programme with the theme: “Leading in a Digital Age,” organised by the Ministry of Establishments and Training for middle-level officers. The event was held at the Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), Magodo, Lagos.

Speaking at the training, Ayantayo, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, emphasised that the programme reflects the State Government’s commitment to continuous capacity development and workforce enhancement. He noted that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration recognises the importance of a digitally competent workforce in achieving a smarter and more efficient government.

While asserting that the programme was timely and strategic, .

“Citizens’ expectations have changed as they demand efficiency. This is because we live in a time where technology is reshaping every aspect of our personal and professional lives. The digital revolution has changed the way we work and deliver services. This training is designed to expose participants to digital transformation tools and innovative approaches to service delivery”, Ayantayo said.

He stressed the need for participants and civil servants to integrate digital knowledge into their daily responsibilities to ensure that the training programmes have a meaningful impact.

While declaring the training programme open, the Commissioner expressed confidence that the training would enhance efficiency, boost productivity, and empower officers to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of Lagos State.

The training programme, which had 100 participants who are above grade Level 13 cutting across different cadres in attendance, is part of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s broader agenda to modernise the public service, drive digital innovation and build a workforce that is future-ready.
