Family Brouhaha, Starring Joke Silva, Wale Ojo, Others, Hits The Cinemas

Excitement is in the air amongst cinema lovers as the Femi Adebayo directed drama-comedy (dramedy).Family Brouhaha’ hits cinemas across the country from Friday, April 11, 2025.

Seen in Nollywood circles as the most star-studded film of 2025, the film written and produced by Oyinlola Lasisi, parades a galaxy of renowned thespians like: Joke Silva, Wale Ojo, Gabriel Afolayan, Jaiye Kuti, Tina Mbah, Charles Okocha, Yemi Shodimu, Shaffy Bello, Tope ‘Teddy A’ Adenibuyan, Layi Wasabi, Tayo Faniran, Ejiro Onojaife, Uzee Usman, Aderonke Onuoha and Deza the Great amongst others.

Set in lush urban and rural neighborhoods, the film captures the intrigues surrounding the life and activities of a wealthy matriarch (Dr. Mrs. Braimoh) of a cocoa dynasty whose generations are locked in an interplay of wits over inheritance after she dies mysteriously following a well-celebrated eightieth birthday anniversary.

Harping on the unique approach to filmmaking deployed in the production, the director, Femi Adebayo says, ‘Family Brouhaha’, has something for everyone in the sense that the story is relatable to everyone.

“So much was put into this production. The story is unique and a perfect mix of drama and comedy, which is why I prefer to call it dramedy. When the producer approached me with the script and the cast involved in the project, I knew this was the kind of film I would love to get involved in. That is the reason why I gave it my all in interpreting the story. I urge everyone to go to the nearest cinema and indulge in this film”.

Oyinlola Lasisi, fondly called Oyinlaz, bringing to the fore the family values entrenched in the film notes: “We have created a beautiful film, entirely compelling and chaotically relatable. It will start showing on April 11. Candidly, ‘Family Brouhaha’ is not just a film, it is a reflection of who we are, and the obligations, roles and duties expected of us as family members.

” There are embedded messages in every frame of this film, that will make you have an introspective moment, where you will wonder if you are the family member who will bring peace or the one who instigates problems. I have a clear view that some human beings are manipulative in nature, but how we exhibit it makes all the difference. It is a film that will make people wonder if they have created a safe place for one another in their families,” she explained.

A statement by the distribution company, Blue Pictures, urged film lovers to check the listings of cinemas close to them for the schedule of ‘Family Brouhaha’ which will show for 4 to 8 weeks after opening on April 11, 2025.
